Group Retreat in Esneux, Belgium, September 2026

The most important things first: are Belgian fries better than the ones in Mensa? (we had the Mensa fries specialist Henning with us)

Apart from testing the Belgians skills in fries, we also had to test their brewing skills.

The brewer mentioned that he now uses AI for his work, so of course we had to have a workshop on AI, hoping it would help us to brew our mathematical models.

We also visited some colleagues at the University of Liège where we discussed our research and were shown how to make antibubbles. Steffen H. with his background in high-energy physics was somehow surprised that when an antibubble meets a bubble, they do not annihilate.

Excursion to the Botanical Garden of TU Darmstadt, June 2026

Of course, we must pay a visit to one of our „ancient colleagues“—the Indian lotus—which has been quietly mastering Cassie-Baxter wetting and thermo-osmotic gas transport long before humans even existed.
